With the aim to speed up and expand the opening-up of education in the new era, promote student exchanges between China and Asian countries and attract more outstanding young people from all over the world to study in China, Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange (CSCSE) successfully organized a Chinese university delegation to participate in the online THE Talk Global Study Fair (Asia), which was hosted by BMI on March 27, 2021.
The delegation is composed of 15 mainland universities and 7 colleges from Macao (organized by Macao Education and Youth Development Bureau), including Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, University of Science and Technology of China, Beijing Institute of Technology, Beihang University, Sichuan University, Shandong University, China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), University of Science and Technology Beijing, Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen), University of Macau, Macau University of Science and Technology, etc.
The exhibition was supported by Times Higher Education (THE) online, with Chinese University delegation participating as a specially invited national exhibition group. During the exhibition and live broadcast on March 27, participating universities interacted with international students from more than 10 countries, such as Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea, India and Pakistan, by means of webpage display, video live streaming and text interaction. Universities brought students latest information on China’s educational resources and recruitment policies for international students and answered questions relative to study in China. The four-hour online exhibition and live broadcast attracted more than 1,000 students, and some of them reached an intention to study in Chinese universities.
In addition, the Chinese university delegation also held an online seminar on studying in China. The CSCSE, on behalf of the Chinese delegation, gave a detailed explanation on advantages of studying in China, a brief introduction of China"s higher education, procedures of applying to study in China, and life in China. It also recommended the website of Studying in China (ww.studyinchina.edu.cn). Universities also made brief introductions on studying in China from different aspects, which have been warmly welcomed by foreign students.
In order to keep providing young students and their parents from all over the world with useful information about studying in China, the webpage of this event (https://asia.talkglobalstudy.com), including photo graphics and materials of the participating institutions, will continue to be retained.
At the same time, the website www.studyinchina.edu.cn have uploaded more than 12,000 courses from 800 colleges and universities, which is convenient for international students to apply for studying in China. International students can visit the website at any time to learn about more knowledge on studying in China and course information as well.
